Montgomery County, MD – June 27, 2019 – Vikara Village is one of 17 nonprofits to be partnering with the Healthcare Initiative Foundation (HIF) through their FY19 Small Grant cycle. Vikara Village demonstrated HIF's strategic priorities and mission by providing community-based programming.
Through HIF, Vikara Village will expand Body Love Yoga program to middle school girls in Montgomery County. The program intends to build a healthy sense of self, community, and belonging through yoga and art for young women.
Seventeen nonprofits received $75,000 worth of program support. HIF’s grants support behavioral health access across the lifespan; access to quality and comprehensive health and wellness services; sustainable business models and integrated service delivery for systemic transformation; and the growth of a highly skilled and culturally competent healthcare workforce.
